BACKGROUND A graduate of Bloomsburg University, I have 35 years teaching experience in the Council Rock School District at the Junior High/Middle level; moving over from Science to Computer education in the early 1980’s. My first venture of computer usage beyond the classroom was using “Prodigy” to establish an “Adopt a Grandparent” program between 8th grade students and a local Retirement Center. Over the years I have worked in the areas of “Telecomputing”, Assistive Device Integration, Staff Training and Community computer classes. I have coached the Baseball, Softball and Wrestling teams at Holland Jr. I was also the Coach of the MathCounts Team from 1987-1991 and was lucky enough to have Holland Jr. High win 2 PA State Championships; Coached the PA State Team twice and also had one of my students win the 1989 National Championship. Since 1995 I have made presentations in schools across the US and at both State and National Conventions. Due to the demands for speaking engagements and my passion for changing the mindset of our young people as they communicate via the internet, I retired from Council Rock School District and now focus solely on doing presentations.
